On May 3, 1998, Ajax Amsterdam visited De Graafschap's headquarters in the Week 33 match of the 1997-1998 season. On his trip to De Vijverberg, Ajax Amsterdam successfully rolled the host. Unmitigated, De Amsterdammers won with a score of 8-1. In the first round, Ajax was superior through a brace printed by Benni McCarthy.
